Consider this… beyond dwelling in emotions, how can you utilize your emotions as a mode of transformation? It does not need be in the arts, but any form of expression, what is something you do that brings you fully into connection with yourself 🕊

My preference for acupuncture are Back and Spinal treatments because they are more sedating and calming, however, treatments on the abdomen can sometimes be what my body needs. These points aid in moving stagnation and releasing heat from the body. In this particular situation, I was experiencing symptoms of tightness and cramping near my stomach as well as difficulty taking a full breath. These points helped to move the *qi* (energy) downwards and aided in moving stagnation and blockages.
Channels needled here are on the Ren, Stomach, Large Intestine and San Jiao 🕊

Let’s talk the importance of SLEEP 💤
Sleep experts such as neuroscientist Matt Walker say consistency is key 🔑 7-8 hours of sleep is what the brain needs to process events of the day, rest and reset effectively.
There is no “sleep debt”, losing adequate sleep one night cannot be repaid by oversleeping the next. A lack of sleep is also on par with the effects of being intoxicated. The best you can do is attempt to go to bed and rise at the same hour.
A lack of stimulation in the hour prior and hour of waking are best advised to prepare the brain for the events ahead 🧠

Dhanurasana Bow Pose 🏹
This posture is wonderful for the body in creating a fluid chest opener coupled with a deep backbend. Once you have the tension of your hands to feet, I enjoy rocking along my abdomen as it helps stimulate your digestive system as well as your adrenal glands.
At first this posture can be uncomfortable with so much pressure on the front body, but that’s what is strengthening the back body. Like everything in life, it’s all about balance 🕊

This is a DEEP backbend.. you will feel it through your latezimus dorsi muscles,, neck, shoulders, chest and abs. Coincidentally, I do this posture after an intense ab work out to find the balance with the constriction of the muscles to complete release and extension.

Red Ginseng or Rénshēn ❤️
One of the more expensive herbs but with good reason. It has astounding benefits for the body such as improving focus, increased energy, promoting heart health, stimulating immune function and slowing the aging process 🕊
Fun fact: It’s common practice to give this herb to children in China before school. If you see the bottle above, it comes with little straws, you can poke through the top of the bottle and suck all the goodness in. Best way to ingest herbs in my opinion

When your goal is to do the splits, there are several different stretches you can do as a warm up. This is one of my go to's and, coincidentally, it is also a position of pilates.
You will first recline back and using the strength of your glutes, lift your leg to your hand, if your hand does not reach your foot, you can adjust your back off the ground to grab your foot.
Once you have the connect between hand and foot, use your breath to recline back, pulling your foot closer to your head, and maybe, eventually... your head will touch your knee 😳

Kick off my Monday after a long weekend… JUICE 🥒
This juice is primarily celery with added cucumber, lemon and ginger.
This what is considered a *complete* juice, looking at the ingredients, celery and cucumber are cooling so we add the ginger as a warming and balancing element. The lemon is as well a balancing element, although cold.
Lemon 🍋 properties include eliminating toxins, resolves phlegm and circulating qi and fluids.
IN TCM, *Traditional Chinese Medicine*, our
digestion and constitution is paralleled with the seasons so as in the summer months, we want to focus our diet around cold and cooling foods 🕊
