This is traditionally a face and neck guasha, i like to use it more often as well on my forearms, wrists and ankles. You can essentially guasha the whole body, wouldn’t that feel amazing 🤩

Final pose of my seated series… no pose name just arch your spine!
Finding organic cat and cow movements of the spine, arching the back and then coving through the abdomen, this movement is best paired with breath.
Use mental imagery to depict using your breath to breathe spaces in between your vertebrae, try for a long hold then collapse through the back opening the chest and abdominal cavity. 😮💨

This seated series is alignment focused with spine twisting and hip openers ⚡️
Starting with staff pose, legs extended & spine erect, this is the starting pose. Harder to hold then most think, it takes core engagement to keep the body in line, shoulders over hips.
Once you find your center, begin the twist. This straight leg twist is great if you are experiencing any abdominal issues like bloating or constipation, will literally wring you right out. As well, lumbar spine issues is very common and this seated series daily can be very helpful in alleviating spinal pain 🕊

Butterfly position 🦋
Another pillar of my seated series. Beneficial for the hip adductors, this pose can be strongly enhanced by utilizing the arm and back muscles to press firmly, hands into thighs.
I enjoy holding this posture for long periods and once you reach your peak, a lovely adjustment from a partner assist can in pressing your legs past your limit 🎆

This is mostly an organic movement but if I was to call it anything it would be a staggered leg, seated twist with extension ✨
Keeping the sit bones rooted and hips square, this twist derives from the hip, simulating the motion of pressing and pulling. Stretching through the intercostal spaces of the ribs, the reach creates an enigmatic opening for the side body through the armpit and lateral side of the arm. Last part of the twist, always the gaze, feeling the reach in the neck.

Seated twists with staggered legs ✨
The best way I’ve found to get into my glute medius and TFL muscles. Adding the twist is a bonus for the spine and detoxifying for the organs. Depending on spine flexibility, your gaze will either go sideways or you can look back at it 😜

Guasha is one the best modalities to release muscle tension, especially for difficult or tender areas such as the neck
The Sternocleidomastoid muscle or SCM as well as the Scalene muscles are particularly difficult to release with efforts of stretching and/or massage, that is when I go to my tool belt for the guasha spoon. Especially in my self massage practice, I try to guasha at least 2-3x weekly 🕊
Fun Fact: If you don’t have a guasha spoon handy, you can supplement with a Snapple cap ✨

Welcome to my Kitchen! 🫖
A stable that is always out, my clay pot for herbal decoctions 🌿
This is used for raw herbs and the process is simple-
1. Soak the herbs in the pot for ~15mins
2. Bring to a boil, allow to simmer on low for ~20mins (herbs depending, some have longer/shorter times)
3. Pour out water into a holding container
4. Add 2nd batch of water, repeat boil and simmer
5. Strain herbs in cheese cloth and squeeze
6. Pour remaining water into holding container
Done! Raw Herbal Tea ☕️

Oh The Places You'll Go! 🌈
I spent time adventuring in Cusco, Peru and this has to be one of my favorite hikes I've ever been on.... Montaña Arcoíris or Rainbow Mountain 🗻
At a whopping 17k feet elevation this hike is no easy feat.. but the views are worth it. The colors of the mountain are created by sediments/minerals emulating the colors of turquoise, pink, lavender and gold.
True to form, once I reach the top, I'm in Natarajasana Dancers Pose
