On "Get Over It Day", on March 9, people everywhere are encouraged to self-reflect and move on from whatever it’s that’s weighing on them. Jeff Goldblatt placed the new holiday between Valentine’s Day and April Fools after he realized numerous people would relate to the problem he was having getting over his breakup.
Jeff, who was having trouble getting over an ex-girlfriend, so the day has its roots in failed romance. Realizing his pain was relatable, Goldblatt created the day to self-reflect, find out what’s weighing us down, and choose that the past should sleep in the past.
Today is also another holiday called, "Napping Day" encouraging all to take regular naps & breaks throughout the day!
Who needs a break?!
Do you like there's a day to work on getting over something?

Today, March 6th, is National Oreo Day!!
Did you know Oreo Cookies are Vegan?!
🤔🤔 In 1912, Nabisco had a new idea for a cookie – two chocolate disks with a creme filling in between.
The first Oreo cookie looked very similar to the Oreo cookie of today, with only a slight difference in the design on the chocolate disks.
Little did they know that the Oreo cookie would become the largest selling cookie of all time.
The origin of the name Oreo is unknown, but there are many theories, including derivations from the French word ‘Or’, meaning gold (as early packaging was gold), or the Greek word ‘Oreo’, meaning beautiful, nice or well done.
Starting in January 2006, Oreo cookies replaced the trans fat in the cookie with non-hydrogenated vegetable oil.
🤔🤔
Crazy right?!

What's you favorite oreo flavor?

🤔🤔 That the first week of March, vasectomies surge 50% higher! Why? Usually march madness is a great time to relax in front of the television while watching college basketball. When getting a vasectomy, cooling needs ti happen where a day of icing is recommended. So why not choose the perfect time to relax and ice yourself than in March during the Madness! The vasectomy rate will probably drop this year, though, as non-essential procedures have been dramatically reduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 🤔🤔

Speaking of Crusade...
*** 🤯🤯 Did You Know?! 🤯🤯 ***
On May 2, 1963, more than one thousand students skipped classes and gathered at Sixth Street Baptist Church to march to downtown Birmingham, Alabama. As they approached police lines, hundreds were arrested and carried off to be locked up in paddy wagons and school buses. When hundreds more youth gathered the following day for another march, white commissioner, Bull Connor, directed the local police and fire departments to use force to halt the demonstration. Images of children being blasted by high-pressure fire hoses, being clubbed by police officers, and being attacked by police dogs appeared on television and in newspapers, and triggered outrage throughout the world.
Despite the violence, children continued to march and protest in an organizing action now known as the Children’s Crusade.
The crusade ended after intervention from the U.S. Department of Justice. The event moved President John F. Kennedy’s to express support for federal civil rights legislation and the eventual passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
So have you ever seen those black & white photos you see of the past where there were African Americans being hosed down by firefighter hose, Mauled by dogs & cops beating the living out of these people...?! Those were KIDS!!!! All the way from Elementary to High School! A Peaceful Protest. Think about that. More than 5,000 kids were arrested and LOCKED UP (Attached a photo & VIDEO).
Did you know about The Children's Crusade?!
Did you know they were kids?
Do you think in elementary you'd have been able to handle this?
Would you stand up for what you believe in?
Would you allow your offspring to take part for bettering the cause?

There once was a time when black athletes weren't allowed to be on the same playing field as white people?! Imagine sports with out Michal Jordan, The William Siaters, Tiger Woods, Lebron James, Russell Wilson, Jackie Robinson, and many more!
Fortunately, there are & were African-American players who ignored the racial slurs and death threats that were hurled their way and focused on making the sports world a better, equal place like boxing champion Jack Johnson!
After becoming the first African American heavyweight boxing champion, Jack Johnson faced the undefeated white American boxer James Jeffries in 1910. Before they met in the ring, Jeffries took a personal jab at Johnson saying that he was "going into this fight for the sole purpose of proving that a white man is better than a Negro." But in the 15th round of their match, Jack knocked his opponent out and handed Jeffries the first loss of his career. The result triggered riots across the U.S.
Could you be champion?!
Could you imagine just wanting to play a sport & being told you can't because of skin shade?
Could you imagine someone telling you they are better than you because skin shade?
What about riots all across the U.S. just because you became the best at what you do & because your skin shade?

Thurgood Marshall (July 2, 1908 – January 24, 1993) —perhaps best known as the first African American Supreme Court justice—played an instrumental role in promoting racial equality during the civil rights movement. As a practicing attorney, Marshall argued a record-breaking 32 cases before the Supreme Court, winning 29 of them. In fact, Marshall represented and won more cases before the high court than any other person. During his 24-year term as Supreme Court justice, Marshall’s passionate support for individual and civil rights guided his policies and decisions. Most historians regard him as an influential figure in shaping social policies and upholding laws to protect minorities.
In 1930, Marshall applied to the University of Maryland School of Law but was rejected because he was Black. He then decided to attend Howard University Law School, where he became a protégé of the well-known dean, Charles Hamilton Houston, who encouraged students to use the law as a means for social transformation. In 1933, Marshall received his law degree and was ranked first in his class. After graduation from Howard, Marshall opened a private practice law firm in Baltimore.
In 1967, following the retirement of Justice Tom C. Clark, President Johnson appointed Marshall, the first Black justice, to the U.S. Supreme Court, proclaiming it was “the right thing to do, the right time to do it, and the right man and the right place.”
Today, the esteemed judge is celebrated for helping to put an end to racial segregation and promoting various types of human rights. Ultimately, Marshall’s steadfast push for equality forever shaped the American justice system.
Can you imagine?!
How brave to be the first in a time where you aren't liked due to your skin color?
How crazy is that he was denied education based off skin color?
Could you be in a room full of adversaries and still show poise with steadfast conviction?
Would you ever want to be a lawyer or judge?

Good day my LOVES!!!
A few of you may wonder why I didn't do a post yesterday BUT I had to focus on other matters. TODAY though I will couple some sexy black history facts to go hand & hand beautifully like Langston Hughes & The Harlem Renaissance 🥰
Speaking of hand & hand ...
*** 🤯🤯 Did You Know?! 🤯🤯 ***
James Mercer Langston Hughes was an American poet, social activist, novelist, playwright, and columnist from Joplin, Missouri. One of the earliest innovators of the then-new literary art form called jazz poetry, Hughes is best known as a leader of the Harlem Renaissance.
The Harlem Renaissance was the development of the Harlem neighborhood in New York City as a Black cultural mecca in the early 20th Century and the subsequent social and artistic explosion that resulted. Lasting roughly from the 1910s through the mid-1930s, the period is considered a golden age in African American culture, manifesting in literature, music, stage performance and art.
Also known as the "New Negro Movement," many people would argue that the Harlem Renaissance never ended and has continued to be an important cultural force in the United States through the decades: from the age of stride piano jazz and blues to the ages of bebop, rock and roll, soul, disco and hip-hop.
3 lessons to take from Langston Hughes:
Lesson #1: He defies the status quo
Lesson #2: His writing style had an intent
Lesson #3: He was dedicated to his craft
Hughes taught writers how preserving through the odds and dedication to their craft is a commitment to success. You have to be proactive, reach out for new opportunities, and get outside your comfort zone. It’s a journey, but one that would be worth it.
Are you a fan of Langston Hughes?!
Know any of his poetry?
Do you like poetry?
Did you know about the Harlem Renaissance?
Do you know any songs from the Harlem Renaissance?
Did you know this was all happening still during the Jim Crow Era?

Muhammad Ali was one of the greatest boxers in history, the first fighter to win the world heavyweight championship on three separate occasions. In addition, he was known for his social message of black pride and black resistance to white domination and for refusing induction into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Muhammad Ali, original name Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr., (born January 17, 1942, Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.—died June 3, 2016, Scottsdale, Arizona), too, was a social activist! Ali was the first fighter to win the world heavyweight championship on three separate occasions; he successfully defended this title 19 times.
Then, on April 28, 1967, citing his religious beliefs, Ali refused induction into the U.S. Army at the height of the war in Vietnam. This refusal followed a blunt statement voiced by Ali 14 months earlier: “I ain’t got no quarrel with them Vietcong.” Many Americans vehemently condemned Ali’s stand. It came at a time when most people in the United States still supported the war in Southeast Asia.
Ali was stripped of his championship and precluded from fighting by every state athletic commission in the United States for three and a half years. In addition, he was criminally indicted and, on June 20, 1967, convicted of refusing induction into the U.S. armed forces and sentenced to five years in prison. Although he remained free on bail, four years passed before his conviction was unanimously overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court on a narrow procedural ground.
In October 1970, Ali was allowed to return to boxing, but his skills had eroded. Then, on March 8, 1971, he challenged Joe Frazier, who had become heavyweight champion during Ali’s absence from the ring. It was a fight of historic proportions, billed as the “Fight of the Century.” Frazier won a unanimous 15-round decision.
Following his loss to Frazier, Ali won 10 fights in a row, 8 of them against world-class opponents.
Then, on March 31, 1973, a little-known fighter named Ken Norton broke Ali’s jaw in the second round en route to a 12-round upset decision. Ali defeated Norton in a rematch. After that he fought Joe Frazier a second time and won a unanimous 12-round decision. From a technical point of view, the second Ali-Frazier bout was probably Ali’s best performance in the ring after his exile from boxing.
On October 30, 1974, Ali challenged George Foreman, who had dethroned Frazier in 1973 to become heavyweight champion of the world. The bout (which Ali referred to as the “Rumble in the Jungle”) took place in the unlikely location of Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo). Ali was received by the people of Zaire as a conquering hero, and he did his part by knocking out Foreman in the eighth round to regain the heavyweight title.
What a heck of a story?!
Imagine trying to regain that title that you rightfully earned?
Could you stand up against what you believe although the world may not with you?
Do you have the heart and will to get what's yours?
Could you stand for what's for right?!
What a heck of a story?!

Ever heard of Black Wall Street or The Tulsa race massacre?! In one of the most serious episodes of racial violence against African Americans in the history of the United States. A thriving black area, Greenwood - dubbed “Black Wall street” - endured two days of attacks by white mobs resulting in the deaths of up to 300 people, a further 10,000 left homeless, and 1,400 business premises destroyed by re. Largely ignored by history books until the 1990s, this event entered popular consciousness when featured in the Watchmen TV series in 2019.
In Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1921, a wave of racial violence destroyed the affluent African American community. Which was seen as a threat to the white dominated American capitalism. All because someone reported that a black man, Dick Rowland the Shoe Shiner, attempted to have his way with a white woman, Sarah Page the Elevator Operator. A common method used in those times to ensure to raid or destroy anything with Black Excellence written all over it was to lie about anything they could to ensure the destruction of the black community. Mr. Rowland happened to trip accidentally in Ms. Page's elevator on his way to the segregated bathrooms. A white store clerk reported the incident as an "assault" or "having his way". The white Americans in the area refused to wait for the investigative process to play out, sparking TWO DAYS of unprecedented racial violence. Thirty-five city blocks went up in flames. Not ONE white American involved was arrested. But several African Americans were. Unfortunately, history has seem to not change ONE BIT.
Did you know about Black Wall Street?!!
Did you know of the amazing success with in it?
How does this make you feel reading this?
Will you research it more?
Who would love to see this come back again & thrive bigger than before?
Would you consider a tripping up of ones feet an assault or having their way with someone?
Do you find this to be fair?

Speaking of Soul Food...
*** 🤯🤯 Did You Know??!! 🤯🤯 ***
Soul food is one of the most popular and recognizable types of cooking coming out of the United States. For centuries, Black Americans have passed on hearty, sumptuous recipes that have marked many a special occasion.
Soul food takes its origins mostly from Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama, a collection of states commonly referred to as the Deep South. During the Transatlantic Slave Trade, enslaved African people were given meager food rations that were low in quality and nutritional value. With these rations, enslaved people preserved African food traditions and adapted traditional recipes with the resources available. Over time, these recipes and techniques have become the soul food dishes we are familiar with today. This food genre, now associated with comfort and decadence, was born out of struggle and survival.
Soul food has a rich and important history that ties Black culture to its African roots, and that history is deeply reflected in the staple recipes and techniques. In soul food cooking, there are four key ingredients (Rice, Okra, Pork, & Greens) that establish a historical link to America’s dark slavery past and the African cultures that the enslaved carried with them.
Could you survive off the left overs of food?
Could you turn it into an establish meal?
Could you eat the parts of anything no one would dare to eat to make it a delicacy?
Do you like soul food?
What's your favorite soul food dish?
Do you have a much better respect for the culture knowing its past?
Could you appreciate the humility & humble approach to surviving with your family through this style of cooking?

😘😘 I had an amazing time with the Special Valentine's Day Live with you all yesterday! As you saw, my computer totally fell and I spilled everything everywhere with a sudden cut off to the show 🤣🤣🤣 but I am SAFE ♥️! We women tend have difficulties here and there hahah but we progress on! 😘😘
Speaking of women and difficulties...
*** 🤯🤯 Did You Know?! 🤯🤯 ***
Women in Black History and History overall tend to never be noticed or over shadowed by men! Hence the name "His"tory. Today I am focusing on Black "Her"story 😏🔥!
The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movment was created by 3 radical African American female organizers by the name of Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi. This is a powerful beautiful Black centered political will and movement building project, created in 2013, that was a response to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin's murderer, George Zimmerman.
African American women, alos, actually led the Suffrage movement too! History found a way to eradicate the African American women and replace them with White American Women in this striggle to vote. Both fought for the same thing (the right to vote) but only one recognized and listened to in the end to create the change that was finally needed for women to have these basic human rights!
Dorothy Heights, an African American civil rights av3tivist & leader, was a THE MAJOR part in with the Big 6 on the historic march to Washington, D.C. leading to the famous "I Have a Dream Speech" in 1963. This was a lone woman at a table full of men! Despite all her efforts, Heights wasn't able to convince the men that a woman should have led the speech the day of the March.
Who would have known?!
Did you know women tend to be the backbone throughout history?
Would you have let her speak?
Would you have let her vote?
Would you have let her lead an organization?
Who would have known?!

There have been soooo many African American Inventors!?? Here are two:
Sarah Boone: An African American dressmaker, she made her name by inventing the modern-day ironing board. With its approval in 1892, she became one of the first Black women to be awarded a patent.
Marie Van Brittan Brown: If you sleep better at night and when you’re away from home because you have a security system, you should know it was invented by a Black woman. Marie Van Brittan Brown felt uneasy in her neighborhood and the police were unreliable. So, she took matters in her own hands and patented the modern home security system.
What would you invent?
Do you appreciate these inventions?
Do you Iron?

***BONUS FACT***
Long before St. Valentine’s execution, February 14 had come to be associated with fertility. Between February 13 and 15, Romans celebrated the feast of Lupercalia by sacrificing a goat and a dog and then lashing naked women with the hides, all in the interest of making the women more fertile. In the fifth century AD, Pope Gelasius I outlawed Lupercalia and officially declared February 14 to be the feast of St. Valentine, or Valentine’s Day

Frederick Douglass ( Talbot Maryland- February 20, 1895) was an American social reformer, abolitionist (Someone who seeks to end slavery), orator, writer, and statesman. After escaping from slavery in Maryland, he became a national leader of the abolitionist movement in Massachusetts and New York, becoming famous for his oratory and incisive antislavery writings.
In 1848, Douglass published an open letter to his “old master” ,Thomas Auld, in which he denounced slaveholders as “agents of hell” and called for the equal treatment of all people. Almost 30 years later Auld, nearing death, invited Douglass to connect with him in 1877.
Thomas was a cruel master, starving and beating his enslaved workers and breaking up their attempts to worship, read and write. He leased Douglass out to other masters who attempted to break his independent spirit with physical and emotional abuse. Eventually, Douglass returned to Hugh in Baltimore, fell in love and started a family. This increased his hatred of slavery and in 1838, at the age of 20, armed with fake papers, a sailor suit disguise and hope for the future, he escaped to the free North with the help of Anna Murray, the free Black woman from Baltimore with whom he had fallen in love. They ended up in Rochester, New York.
As a free man, Douglass couldn’t forget the people he’d left behind in Maryland—or the masters who had enslaved him. He became involved in the abolitionist cause, started publishing his own abolitionist newspaper, The North Star, and associated with notable abolitionists like William Lloyd Garrison in his fight against slavery. His firsthand descriptions of the cruelty of slavery were a potent weapon in the struggle against bondage, and Douglass became a renowned speaker, crisscrossing the North to speak to abolitionist groups and gatherings about his life as an enslaved person.
The 1877 meeting was one of a series of moving encounters Douglass had later in life with those who once held him in bondage. Fraught with strong emotions and bitter memories, the meetings show how determined Douglass—one of the most morally and politically influential African-American public figures of the 19th century—was to confront the legacy of slavery in his own life, in private as well as in public.
⛓🏆 What a leader, right?! 🏆⛓
Did you know Douglass became one of the most famous intellectuals of all time, advising presidents and lecturing to thousands on a range of causes, including women's rights & Irish Home Rule?
Could you have thought of such a way to escape?
Could you have been bold enough & still showed great character meeting up with your prior slave master?
Would you be a great abolitionist?
What do you stand for today?
⛓🏆What a leader right?! 🏆⛓

The NAACP is a civil rights organization that was formed on February 12, 1909. Wells ( An African American investigative journalist, educator, and early leadrer in the civil rights movement).
Their mission was as follows:
" to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race based discrimination".
