Speaking of celebrations... *** 🤯🤯 Did You Know?! 🤯🤯 *** Today marks the 112th BIRTHDAY of the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)!! 🎁🎈🎉🕯🍰 So let's give a huge "HAPPY 112th BIRTHDAY NAACP" below!! 🎁🎈🎉🕯🍰 The NAACP is a civil rights organization that was formed on February 12, 1909. It's an interracial endeavor to advance justice for African Americans by a group including W.E.B Du Bois ( An African American Sociologist, historian, author, editor, and activist), Mary White Ovington ( A White American reformer, journalist, & suffragist ), Moorfield storey ( A white American Lawyer, anti-imperial activist, & civil rights leader who went to Harvard), & Ida B. Wells ( An African American investigative journalist, educator, and early leadrer in the civil rights movement). Their mission was as follows: " to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race based discrimination". What an incredible group of individuals?! In 1909, could you have stood up & done this? Do you have the courage to stand up today, in 2021? Are you brave?
