Marie Van Brittan Brown felt uneasy in her neighborhood and the police were unreliable. So, she took matters in her own hands and patented the modern home security system. What would you invent? Between February 13 and 15, Romans celebrated the feast of Lupercalia by sacrificing a goat and a dog and then lashing naked women with the hides, all in the interest of making the women more fertile.
