I can’t wait until my milk comes in! 💦 I get asked this a lot so if you’re wondering about milk, it usually comes in during labour. It isn’t milk at first, it’s a thick substance called colostrum. You maybe only get a few drops here and there, but it’s super dense and packed with goodness. After a few days it waters down and that’s when it becomes milk. Occasionally, but rarely, colostrum might leak in the last few weeks of pregnancy. That is only a small drop or two and is fine as long as it’s left. It is possible to massage breasts so that colostrum comes early, but it’s very dangerous as it also causes a hormonal reaction that is known to induce labour prematurely. The only time a pregnant woman has full milk is if she was breastfeeding prior to becoming pregnant again. And if thats the case, it’s safe to continue feeding through pregnancy as long as it’s otherwise a low-risk pregnancy. ℹ️ 😂
