It’s hump day! The day of the week where you decide if you want to relax or keep working hard if not harder! I am in love with this contemporary ballet sequence I learned. Did you know ballet is more than just the traditional graceful movements and techniques that are typically advertised when thinking of a ballerina? As I have said before ballet is the foundation for all other forms of dance but “contemporary ballet” is becoming its own genre and style itself! Meshing in extreme technical movements with power and expression in contemporary, this style is becoming very popular as it captivated an audience tremendously 🦋💜 What do you think of meshing contemporary and ballet together?

Happy Tuesday loves! Today I wanted to post this combination because it is very technical, however I don’t hit everything perfectly. Passion definitley took over and even though mistakes and slips were made, I still pride myself in how much of myself I gave to the choreography and that I never gave up. Reality is that we can’t hit everything perfect all the time, and as dancers we are perfectionists to our core. I’ve been able to slowly unravel that mindset so I never lose my passion just to achieve perfection when executing movements. ❤️

Finally getting some warmer weather is taking me back to one of my favorite dance classes from last summer. This contemporary class included so many elements of ballet with extreme technical difficulty, but also the passion i exuded is unmatched and so intimate and vulnerable in this video. 💜 Matching technique and vulnerability is one of my strong suits I pride myself the most for in my career as a professional dancer! 💚
