In my current herbal formula I’m taking..
Gui Ban 🐢 Fresh Water Turtle Shell
Gui Ban goes to the Heart Liver and Kidney channels
Beneficial for treating yin deficiency which includes symptoms of restlessness, insomnia as well as low back pain
Isn’t it wonderful how everything from the Earth has a purpose 🕊️
A big center splits to get you through the week 😉
When executing any leg splits, most important is a balance of length and strength-
The length is through the hamstrings, back of knees, through the arches of the foot as well as from lumbar spine through the crown of the head 👑
The strength is derived through the bandhas, or locks of the body. You have 3 main bandhas and all want to be engaged 🔒
Mula bandha - pelvic floor
Uddiyana bandha - diaphragm
Jalandhara bandha - throat
Using your breath, practice engaging these bandhas to stimulate and harness your prana (energy) ⚡️
Peach Bellini’s are my favorite and perfect for the season 🍑
Chinese Medicine highlights Peaches as having the properties of ➡️
-tonifying yin energy 🌚
-promoting circulation of fluids and qi 🩸
-dispersing cold 🥶
Supppper Sweaty 💦
My fitness/bodycare routine is always dynamic… some days ballet, some days pilates, some days basketball, some days lifting, some days cardio… all days include SWEATING.
Even on rest days… I’m sweating from sauna or steam room.
Did you sweat yet today 😉
Epic and breathtaking performance by the Joffrey Ballet of *Frankenstein* 🩰
The thing I love most about attending professional performances whether it be dance or sports, is to witness human excellence at its best… something we should all aspire to achieve 🕊️

How’s those Quads feeling today ?!?
I’ve started working with a new trainer and she is kicking my booty 😭 in the best way possible 😈
Quickest way for a quad release, belly down and pull your heel to your booty 🍑
*Always use your breath to drive the movement*
Oh, the POWER of the TDP Lamp 💥
TDP lamps utilize far infrared heat and light to penetrate the body deeply to release muscle tension and improve circulation.
As well, this lamp has a mineral plate which contains aluminum, barium, carbon and cobalt, to name a few. The far infrared technology coupled with the plates infuse the body with necessary minerals the body needs to achieve optimal performance 💪🏼
With the change of the season, the air is getting more acrid and dry. It’s during the season change that pathogens 🦠 can affect our bodies. It is important to keep your immune system healthy to fight off any infections or viruses.
Chinese medicine asserts miso soup with the herb Cong Bai, or scallions, is productive in fighting off an early stage invasion.
Your girl definitely been fighting off this pathogen, taking a day of rest and soup to recoup my health
*Send rations of support* 😭
In honor of upcoming HallowsEve 🎃
This has to be one of my favorite costumes to date..
Gwen Stacy from Spider-Man 🕸️
Usually I opt for something that involves a wig but this action packed outfit made it easy to bust out my yoga moves wherever I go ✨
*Only to return… the bubble no longer an illusion.. the dreams, the hopes, the ambitions are reality*
The rarest you will see… me featured with my original art work 📷
I’ve had an operating darkroom for the past ten years. I would stay it’s my original passion. The dedication, fulfillment and gratitude I get from shooting an image on film, to developing to printing in the darkroom….there’s nothing like it
Finding your passion and executing it to succession is a form of therapy ✨
These images are produced from original negatives. Sally Rand, one the first burlesque dancers ever, came alive in the 1920’s, She was a true revolutionary of her time, embracing the feminine and provocative, a trailblazer for womens’ rights and recognition. In my best efforts, I wish to emulate her in strength to go beyond the norm or expectation of society to truly embrace who I am.
To all women everywhere, let’s pay homage to Sally Rand for her greatness and inspiration 🌟
Quite the opening for the shoulders and tbh… has taken a lot of time and practice.
The deltoid portion of the shoulder is very tight on most people, the reverse bind takes long holds, deep breathes and patience to achieve.
To get your shoulders to this point , practice with consistency and grace. Most importantly, be patient with yourself, anything you set your mind to, you can achieve ✨🌟
Raw herbs are the OG way to prescribe 🌿
Yes, more time in preparation however this method comes with a higher potency. And there is something to be said about working with the raw herbs… embracing their taste, smell, temperature, that allows one to truly comprehend the benefits to be received
Alignment, balance and strength 🎍
I view my environment as an opportunity for engagement whether it be climbing a tree or seeing a long bench and thinking *I want to split on that*
Tight calves like me ? Best practice for a quick release is GUASHA 🥄
When applying Guasha, two aspects of consideration are depth and speed. Listen to your body and augment pressure and speed based on the body’s feedback. This does not necessarily mean push through the pain, but find your edge 🗡️
A big part of my growing up was climbing trees 🌳
When I need to tap into my reservoir of happiness, a direct access route is to *climb a tree*
*My Happy Place*
I’m interested in what your routine is… do you enjoy getting your fitness in during the work week or supplementing weekend fun with gym time?
I find a nice balance between both, although even on “rest” days, I still get in light cardio and stretching, stretching is a daily routine 🙆🏼♀️
On the balance between Western and Eastern medicine, I view the place of Eastern medicine as regularity, maintenance and balance whereas Western medicine serves for emergency medicine 🚑
My friend unfortunately suffered a dog bite and I had to rush her to the ER. Don’t worry, she is okay. However, in this instance, my acupuncture needles and herbs could not help her.
If our system could find a balance and place for these two worlds of medicine, people as whole would be in a healthier place 🩵
“In the past, people practiced the Tao, the Way of Life. They understood the principle of balance as represented by the transformations of the energies of the universe. They formulated exercises to promote energy flow to harmonize themselves within the universe. They ate a balanced diet at regular times, arose and retired at regular hours, avoided over stressing their bodies and minds, and refrained from overindulgence of all kinds. They maintained well-being of body and mind; thus, it is not surprising that they lived over one hundred years.“These days, people have changed their way of life. They drink wine as though it were water, indulge excessively in destructive activities, drain their jing – the body’s essence that is stored in the Kidneys – and deplete their qi. They do not know the secret of conserving their energy and vitality. Seeking emotional excitement and momentary pleasures, people disregard the natural rhythm of the universe. They fail to regulate their lifestyle and diet, and sleep improperly. So it is not surprising that they look old at fifty and die soon after.”
― The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Medicine: A New Translation of the Neijing Suwen with Commentary
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), *Xun Yi Cao* also known as Lavender, has an array of properties such as clearing heat from the body, expelling toxins, reducing inflammation and circulating qi (energy)
I often use this herb in my treatments if a patient presents with anxiety, palpitations, insomnia and/or headaches 🪻
Everybody needs a treat yo’ self day 🖤
I find it’s best to align a day of dedicated self care with the new moon. New Moons represent a time for introspection and rumination on what the future can hold.
Practice manifestation, everything you want is within your reach xoxo 😘
