Since it's inception in 2016, SWOP Behind Bars has coordinated more than 20,000 books through Amazon Wishlists to incarcerated sex workers 3,000 book donations to prison libraries and approximately 450 GED self-study guide books to prisoners and prison libraries!
"SWOP Behind Bars is a national social justice network dedicated to the fundamental human rights of people who face discrimination from the criminal justice system due to the stigma associated with the sex industry. We advocate for the full decriminalization of adult consensual sex work and the ending of cash bail. We draw attention to the effects of generational poverty on sexualized violence against marginalized and vulnerable populations, especially women, people of color, the LGBTQIA+ community, people who use drugs, people with disabilities, and people living with HIV. Using a harm reduction framework, we provide services and support with a focus on ending violence and stigma through education and advocacy."

There is a lot of buzz around this new project and we are just so excited about seeing it evolve and take off on a global scale. The Naked Bookclub is a cheeky (ahem!) endeavor but on a very real level our bookclub is a defiant nod to the freedom of speech (and freeing the nipple!).
There is a shameful history the world over, of criminalizing literacy, outlawing and censoring books and arresting writers. How lucky we are in our lifetimes to have the gift of books at our literal fingertips. A book has the power to spark curiosity, introduce innovation, and open opportunities *gestures broadly at everything*.
Won’t wax poetic here, but all I am saying is if some tiddies n’ ass inspires you heathens to read more, we are here for it! 👀📖💦
With that in mind, over the coming days/weeks many new original and playful and creative reading performances will be posted. And we want to know what kind of new books you hope to get, well, turned onto....
