I'm thinking about getting a new Sports game for my N64. They are the cheapest out there! Kinda miss the good old days where college games were on consoles! It was fun. NBA Courtside...have only ever played the NBA 2K or the NBA Jam series...wondering if NBA Courtside would be cool to try on. I mean, it's featuring Kobe!!! RIP NBA Live 2000... one of the few console games to ever featured the great MIchael Jordan. You can play 1 on 1 vs him. Thinking it could be nice. Even though the reviews of NBA Live aren't that good. It was mostly a PC game with updates. Console games didn't have any good features. Blitz and Gretzky are two arcade games. But I'm thinking they could be fun to play with friends - and way different than the newer games I'm used to on PS4. Help me pick!!!! ps: For everyone else who doesn't care. For those who replied they were into Pinball earlier this week... Have you tried the VPIN (Virtual Pinballs?). I have to admit that I have never played a good virtual one. I know that Legends Ultimate has one (but to me, there are too many steps with a computer and all). Arcade1Up has a few themed ones (Marvel, Star Wars, Williams), but the quality isn't top notch based on the reviews. Fun novelty that wears off. Toy Shock looks like complete garbage. So, this is why, most of my Pinball love goes to Stern tables. I think they are just SOOOOOO freaking cool. I've played a few at different arcades over the years. I loved that Family Guy one (being a fan of Family Guy, otherwise you probably wouldn't care). What about their Stranger Things? The Walking Dead one? Or Game of Thrones? Or that new Godzilla? Some of you asked me information about the arcade cabinet I'm currently modding. **Some info:** I'm using an old 2nd gen Pac Man cabinet from Arcade1Up. Exterior: Will paint it blue, add Donkey Kong original stickers to the side. Will order a new Donkey Kong Marquee (based on the original arcade one) I plan to create a new Control Panel (based on that image I'm showing you). So it will be a 3 buttons (instead of 1) but I think it will still look great. And it will give you more options with the games. In terms of the games, I'm using a Raspberry Pi 3B+ since I am dealing with a vertical screen. I want to limit myself to vertical screen games only (I hate stretched out games - or horizontal games looking lost on a vertical screen). I am a purist. So if a game is a 4-way joystick game, I want a 4-way, not a 8-way joystick. Since Donkey Kong is the theme of that cab, it will be a 4-way joystick and only 4-way joystick games. I also only wanted games from the 80s. Here's the list I came up with. Oh and yeah, I wanted a limited number of games. When there are too many options, you keep scrolling over and over and spend more time picking something than doing something! A few points about the other games I've listed. - I preferred Didi Kong Racing over Mario Kart. I loved the fact that you could explore the races in Didi Kong. You could use the boat, airplane, car...and the adventure mode was just fun to play. Nothing against Mario Kart (my favorite racing game of all time since then), but I don't get why Didi Kong didn't get more love in the next Nintendo Consoles. - Never been into Zelda. I've tried, I swear. But it just was never my jam. Never got into it. I know it's one of the best games of all time, but not for me. - Pokemon Stadium. No one voted for that one, but I LOVED IT! Haha I started playing Pokemon on the GameBoy so I LOVED having a transfer pack to bring my Pokemon to "live" on the big screen. Plus, the mini games were fun as hell. They should have done something similar to Mario Party, would have bought that in a heartbeat! - NFL Blitz 2000. To me, Blitz was always an arcade game. I was into Madden when it came to consoles. My first Madden was 2002...which was the last Madden not to have Tom Brady as a Patriots starting QB (Drew Bledsoe was) before their dynasty run! - Loved Donkey Kong. I want to play that game again. I played some of GoldenEye but I don't have any memories of it that make me want to play again. - Currently, I'm playing Didi Kong Racing Adventure mode. Regarding my last post about N64 games. I'm using the RetroTINK 2X-Pro to convert my image from the Nintendo console to an LCD TV. It has the option of scan lines, a smoothing effect or "regular" image. You can google it, I'm sure it will be easy for you to find. Sure, nothing beats playing it on a CTR TV, but those things are HEAVY and take so much room! Room I didn't have lol. Really happy with how it turns out with the RetroTINK :) (I'm playing it on a 42" HiSense TV - so it's quite the cheap TV and it looks good to me!) Have you at any point used an old gaming console from your "younger" years? Like a Dreamcast, N64, Playstation 1 or even NES or Atari? Comment below if you have to tell me which one, I'm intrigued :)
