Phew, I had a hard time sleeping, but it's ok! I'll survive! I did get up and write out the recap for our D&D session yesterday. A lot happened. One of the players is catatonic and kept failing wisdom saves to come out of it. I have a special 'dark dream' sequence for him to experience before the next session. It wasn't a battle session last night, it was a battle aftermath session, and they were dealing with the fallout of their decisions. 7 townspeople are dead as a direct result of the battle they had. There are only 3 'cities' in the world they are in, and they aren't exactly welcome in one of them now! Something exciting happened though, they got a formal invitation to come to the BBEG's castle and dine with him! They're smart enough to know this isn't the final battle, and I'm hopeful they wont try to start anything at the dinner, but it will be fun to roleplay. They're on their way to another city to have some dress suits made so they can be appropriately presentable for the big dinner! I have been putting it off, but I guess it's time for me to make some battlemaps for Castle Ravenloft! Much excite!! Anyway, hope you are having a good Friday! I've got a few things to do today, but for now, I'm going to relax and have some breakfast and just take it easy. <3

MOAR BOOTY for this Thor's Day morning! 🍑 I had such a weird sleep last night, but no matter. Today is D&D day and that's always a good day! I have a bit more prep to do, but otherwise I'm ready to play. If I get my prep work done soon enough, I might take some time to work on the last PC mini, a Tabaxi Spore Druid. The character is so interesting and the player is role playing him really well, it's been so much fun!

Also on deck today is prep for D&D tomorrow. One of my players failed a WIS save and he's going to be getting a visit from a dark entity in his dream, so I have to prepare that, among some other things. That aside, CHECK OUT THIS MAGICAL MOFO RIGHT HERE!!! 😁😁😁 So one of my D&D players plays a bard/warlock, and for his mini he carved out this little 'magic effect' to come out of one of his hands. He asked for it to be magic-y and purple, and BAM! I'm so happy with how it turned out! I based it with different shades of blues and purples, then layered a purple/blue colorshift paint overtop of that, and accented it with metallic silver. Sure, it looks rough this close up because the camera picks up WAY more detail than the naked eye, but MAN! Look at that sparkly magic boi right there!!! 😁😁😁 *proud*

So the last Player Character mini arrived today. I couldn't find a Tabaxi Druid male, so I knew I'd have to modify this Rogue to work. The upper corner is what they looked like out of the box, and the bigger one is the one I modified. Took the hand from one and glued it to the other. Cut down the scabbard and sanded it to look like another pouch on his belt. Now just to wash it and prime it, and he'll be ready to paint. I think it turned out pretty good!

There's a fan on the back patio that the blades seem to be falling off, or will be if no attention is paid to them, so I'm going to pull out the ladder and investigate. Hopefully it's an easy fix. I'd rather not have to go through the management company if it just needs a couple of new screws or something simple like that. So we'll see! Actually, that sounds like it might be a dusty job. Maybe I'll tackle that before I get cleaned up. Yeah, that makes sense. Do you have any house projects on the go? I like being able to work on and fix things myself when I can. It's a nice feeling of accomplishment, since it's not the sort of thing I was taught how to do while growing up. I imagine a lot of you guys know how to do tons of simple home maintenance and repair tasks and I think that's just so nifty! :D

Good morning! (*in my best Jester voice* Technically, at this point for me - it still is morning, technically!) . I slept ok for half the night, and then the wind brought down some heavy palm fronds onto the roof tiles which made a big racket and woke me up at around 7. For real! 😁 If you have no idea what it is: it's a Japanese science fiction suspense-thriller drama, based on a manga of the same name. The series stars Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya as allies trapped in an abandoned Tokyo where they have to participate in dangerous games. That's all I will say because I don't want to spoil anything for you. It was super compelling, and I haven't had a show catch me and keep me needing to know what comes next like this one did, in a long time. It's Japanese with English subtitles (though it's Netflix, so I bet you can get other language subs too) Anyway, it was well written, well acted, and well composited. Visually it was quite a spectacle. The effects were believable in a live-action-anime kind of way, and the characters were all done very well. It was just overall really well put-together. I read that it was given the green light to make a second season and this makes me very happy! I want moar!!
2021-04-25 06:33:38 +0000 UTC View PostSo I did some mini painting today, but honestly, they don't look great in the camera... they're designed to be seen and used at the table, not with a super mega detail picking up camera 😅 That being said, I'm really proud of my work, even though it's no where near pro level. I think once I seal them I'll take some proper pictures with decent lighting that I'll post here, to show them off without making them look so bad - because I'm really happy with them! . Anyway, I'm super tired, even though I slept, because it was a late night last night even after D&D! I'm going to hit the sofa and watch some more Alice in Borderland. Anyone else see that show yet? It's on Netflix and it's really got me hooked! It is pretty graphic, violence-wise, as it's based on Manga, I believe...so be warned if you do check it out. Other than that, I'd like to see where they're going with it. I'm not familiar with the source material, so I'm just enjoying the show!

So I started using them for the damage rolls when the bad guys landed a hit on my players. Just hearing the sound of the ringy-dingy began to instill the fear of what was coming! It definitely amped up the sense of danger in the encounter. It was SO much fun!! Just listen to those bad boys!!

Good morning/afternoon/whatever time it is for you! 🥰 So I'm feeling a lot better today. Headache and fever are gone, so is the sore arm. I'm about to get some session prep finished and then starting early evening, I'll be running the D&D game! Today my players are picking up from last week, where they were invisible sentry at a farm where sheep are disappearing - hoping to catch whatever is causing it. As the DM I know that because they are there, the sheep thief isn't going to steal any sheep for fear of being caught, but a neighboring farm is going to have a bunch of chickens go missing! I'm hoping the players will be a little confused as to what might be stealing the sheep, since they're all currently invisible - what sheep thief can see invisible creatures?! Little do they know that the thief was present when they were discussing their plans to go stand guard! I'm excited to see how they reason things out and what steps they take next! . Anyway, enjoy some sunny window noods! 🌞 I'm off to put some things together for todays game. I need to make a couple of farm battle maps! :)
