JUST SOCK LINT When you shrink down to bug size you must realize you’re worthless, insignificant… What do you expect it could happen? Ah yes, sure... you shrunk among your best friend and so you think you’ll be safe? Just cause he’s a good caring man? Wrong… It just needs a distraction, the smallest eccident and you will be doomed… And your so called “best friend” will turn into your giant nightmare. A night like many others, you trying to get some sleep on the gigantic bedside table, while your giant friend was about to sleep on his immense bed next to you. He works hard, he’s a construction worker and you know how much his days are tiring… Usually he watch tv, or listen to music, at times maybe read a book before falling alseep. This evening wasn’t an exception… Aside for the fact that he suddenly sneeze. Something so casual, so normal… Pity that by pure coincidence the turn a bit on the left while doing so, exactly on the side where his bedside table was… and where YOU was… It all happen so quickly, it was suck a blast! A powerful blow, filled with drops of saliva that shower you in no time, send you flying in the air as if you were a feather. You scream all the way down but do you think your tiny voice would really reach his ears? No, not at all… So this will be your end? Splatted on the floor? It could be… You already can see how easy is to end you. But no, this wasn’t going to be your end, even if soon enough you’ll be wishing it would be. Down on the floor, there was the dirty socks of your giant friend, left there, probably for another use on the next day, cause… well, yes, maybe he’s not the cleanest or well-ordered guy. The cavernous curled up sock engulf you as you fall into it’s darkness, it was damp, smelly, but at least it softened your very high fall, even if not enough for you to not fall u n c o n s c i o u s… You wake up the next morning, when something shake you strong enough and you start rolling down further deeper into the fabric cavern. Another scream fall into deaf giant ears… Soon enough your brain clicks on the reason of all this, it was simple after all. Your friend woke up and was already preparing to go to work, getting dressed, wearing his socks… it was all so normal for him, how could he know you ended up inside his sock? And so it happens… You just woke up and yet your worst nightmare was about to start. The colossal size 12 foot of your giant friend, slide into the sock, sealing the way out and run over you. This meant game over, you knew it. How could you ever survive his foot? No way, he’ll crush you as soon as he’ll put it down. You already start saying your prayers before your end comes… You’re wrong once more, a hint of luck makes you end right under his toes, the sock keep you trapped there, but you have a little room to survive, maybe… Totally unaware of your presence, he simply go on with his day, dressed up, he wear his heavy work boots and get out for another day of hard work. 10 hours later he’s back home, exhausted, sweaty… All he wanna do is kick off his boots, peel off his socks and lay down on the bed to chill some. That is exactly what he does and after an amount of time you can’t even define, after being thrown allover against his toes, into complete darkness, squeezed, compressed, almost down into foot sweat and almost roasted for the oven-heat-like that formed inside his boot, you finally see some light again. A wave of fresh air blows over you, allowing a second of relief that sadly ends up just making you smell the powerful stink of his foot a second later. Right when you thought your nostrils got used to it, it strike you twice as powerful. How you managed to survive through all this is just a mystery. But you did… and now you find yourself stuck between the toes of your giant friend, covered in sweat, entangled into his dirty sock lint so much you even struggle to move. But you try! You try hard… to squirm, to scream, to call for help! You beg, beg for his attention and help. It doesn’t work… How deeply and completely pathetic and insignificant you feel when he doesn’t hear you? When you realize to be so small to literally pass unnoticed and be no different then a piece of sock lint? Let’s be honest, even if he’d ever find you, how much shame would you feel to be found stuck between his toes among pieces of sock lints? It would be the most shameful thing ever! How pathetic, how sad… wouldn’t be better to just disappear into nothing? You even hear him call for you, you scream again but he doesn’t hear you… He recall he left you on the bedside table the night before and just now he reminds about you, he’s a busy man, it’s easy to forget about something so small, even if he may care about you. Right now he was tired and not in the mood to search for you, at that size, you could be anywhere… And so you remain there, stuck on his soles, covered in dirt, f o r c e d to breath in his powerful foot smell at each single breath while big drops of sweats rain down on your already soaked sweat body. Will he ever find out where you ended up? Will you eventually be washed away along with the rest of the dirt on his foot? Will he wiggle and curl his toes enough to squish you and pop you like a grape? Or maybe you’ll eventually peel off while he walk around barefoot just to be stepped on and finished a moment later? Who knew… But what is sure is that by now, you’d be wishing he’d end you soon...
