For those that didn't know On November 5th, I was returning home from my besties place when I got a flat, it was about 2am and i got out to check to see if I had a spare to possibly fix my tire or call AAA to fix it. At that time I was struck by an intoxicated driver at almost 80mph, and the impact unfortunately severed both of my legs. After being hospitalized for almost 2 months, I have chosen to be blessed and happy that I am even still alive.
I am definitely learning to embrace my new normal as an above knee amputee. I crack dark jokes from time to time (I’m from New York lol we rib every and anyone) I choose laughter and positivity over feeling the inquiries like “why me?” or “why cant I” (I feel those feelings will hinder my over all growth and how I will be able to tackle certain difficulties.) Please understand this doesn’t mean I am not without my down times, I get sad like anyone else about my prospects on being a great mom to my amazing son, being able to be a good friend, sister, daughter & co worker or even one day being a loving wife one day.
However I cannot let this stop me from enjoying my second chance and lease on life! I am still the anime watching, kdrama watching, cosplayer, alt dresser, Sanrio collector, plushie hoarder, resin maker, Cocoa Kawaii shop owner, language learner, alt model, dancer, naughty teaser, physical limit challenger ( workout nut ) ambivert most of you have come to learn to love.
