Looooong ass day here — up @ 5:40, at parents’ by 6:30 to go with them to go see my G’mom about 2 hour trip.
My dad is feeling sick and stays home. We are almost at G’mom’s apt and hubs calls us that my dad called him to ask what he can take for his stomach. [history of diverticulitis] Mom calls him, he sounds in terrible pain. She calls my bro to go over to see how he is and take him to hosp if needed.
Visit w G’mom, talk to brother, he couldn’t get dad to go to hosp, finally sleeping. Mom talks to dad later but he has no recollection of the earlier conversation.
On way home mom talks to dad, still no recollection of AM; asks again where we are.
Get back to their house and over about 20-30 mins becomes clear he has absolutely no short term memory at all. Can’t recall conversation from 3 mins ago.
Get him to hosp, CT scan of head is clear of any blockages/bleeds. They find a kidney stone and we’re able to diagnose him with transient global amnesia, onset from pain.
Currently waiting for him to be admitted to a floor for observation, MRI of head tomorrow just to completely rule out anything neurological.
And it’s only 6:30pm🙈
But thank GOD he is ok and should be able to pass the stone soon.
