apologies for these unedited just-woke-up / pimple-medicine-..

apologies for these unedited just-woke-up / pimple-medicine-on-my-face photos but if y’all want me to post more then i’m gonna have to start being less insane about how i look cause this the real me & what my bf & roommates see everyday 😹 since this is more a fan page & not a porno thing i figured i should keep y’all updated on my lame hobbies as opposed to posting it on twitter so here’s the latest one: MICROGREENS. if you don’t know about microgreens, they are amazing! most microgreens have the same amount of nutrients as the full grown plant (kale is one of the few that retains its nutrient levels as it grows) which is amazing because eating a huge bowl of veggies isn’t always the move even if you like them like me! veggies also lose their nutrients after they’ve been picked so when you grow your own microgreens you can cut them right before consuming them, so you can imagine the nutrients you’re getting are much higher than eating the full grown veggie from the store. they’re also super easy to throw in smoothies or on top of other dishes to add some color and crunch without even realizing how much good stuff you’re putting in your body! love that for me! after perusing a lot of bougie microgreen growing systems on instagram, i was feeling like they were overpriced & not necessarily that effective so i found a small, non-fancy website that mainly focuses on growing education but also happens to sell all kinds of perfectly measured seeds at a very reasonable price (40-70 cents each) and decided to go that route instead. a week ago i planted the seeds which took about 5 minutes. they took 3 days to germinate but i think that was because i went a little light on the water at first. when i checked them on day 2 i added some water and by day 3 they were ready to be uncovered and placed in the sun. today is 4 days after that & they are fully ready to be harvested! i added a tiny bit of water each day (underneath the soil to keep the top soil dry & prevent fungus from growing on the plant) but beyond that i barely did anything! i’ve never had a green thumb & kill plants regularly so these were super easy! i went with the broccoli & radish to start as they’re some of the most popular (broccoli is chock full of cancer fighting shit) and they’re some of the fastest to grow. i knew i needed instant gratification or i wouldn’t keep it up, but i got some more obscure seeds to try next. i’m especially excited about the mustard! ANYWAY, i highly suggest trying these out! if you’re someone who doesn’t LOVE veggies, this is a perfect way to consume them. you can add them on top of everything for instant class, throw them in a smoothie, or make tiny side salads out of them. one of my favorite KETO style ways to eat these is to cut up some avocado, sprinkle a little lemon/lime juice & salt/pepper, drizzle some olive oil, & then mix in a handful of these bad boys. you get a smol side salad that is full of healthy fats but still has the nutrients of a full salad without ALL the fiber that makes ya gassy lol. if you’re not low carb, you can throw it on some bread for some seriously fancy avo-toast. if you go that route, i also highly recommend trying some balsamic reduction drizzled on top. it does have sugar (even the ones without added sugar) but you only need a little to really make the flavors pop. your taste buds will thank you & your friends will be impressed! i feel like if you have kids this is a perfect project for them because then you don’t have to do anything at all & they’ll be excited to eat veggies they grew themselves 😹 although truly this only took up maybe 15 minutes of my time over a week so anyone can do it! if you get the soil in bulk (from home depot or whatever) these really only come out to about $1 a tray (once you’ve bought or made your own tray) compared to $6ish dollars at whole foods (which aren’t always available & are often already cut so they’ve lost nutrients by the time you eat them). let me know if you enjoyed this blog style post & i’ll start doing more of them (while still continuing to post the thirst traps & classy noods OBVI 💕) xoxo, cc
