Added 2023-08-29 22:03:02 +0000 UTCDolphins!! To the right of the sun's reflection you can spot a bit of a dolphin! I've seen a spectacular dolphin show twice now this year. They jump, flip, spin and do that synchronized with two and three other dolphins at once! I'm feeling very lucky that I've gotten to see their fun in the wild. The first time they were much closer and were swimming past snorkelers again and again. I was doing errands that day and had just stopped to have lunch under a shade tree on the ocean when I saw them just 20 or 30 feet off shore, right in front of me. I did not have my bathing suit or snorkel gear with me. I was quite bummed but I will just have to go back more prepared. I hear they frequent that area so it will hopefully not be my last opportunity. There are rules about not getting close to them, of course. I did observe people being very respectful. The curious dolphins did approach and swim closely past the snorkelers many times. They seemed to enjoy the interaction. I hope I will be that lucky someday. It was still very nice to see the overjoyed people having the time of their life while I was eating my lunch. Smiles are definitely contagious! 😁
