π₯ This is not a sexy video of me digging up carrots π
Very long and rambling post...felt cute, might delete later
One of the reasons I started OF is because gardening doesn't feel sexy, and I don't feel sexy while I'm gardening, but it is a beautiful thing to do and very gratifying. I wanted to see if there was a way I could connect this fantasy that I have of the sexy, romantic, gardener with the reality...thanks for being here and letting me work out the kinks...
Now let's talk about carrots, and the fact that the carrots pictured here are a fraction of the quantity I grew this year. Every year I grow way too much of something. Last year it was green beans, and this year it is carrots, which were planted to all have the same harvest time.
I keep a garden journal where I make notes for future years. Some gardeners keep very detailed journals with planting dates, daily weather, harvest dates, etc., but I just write down the important things to remember for the next year.
My garden journal will read something like this:
Dear future self,
Do not plant thousands of carrots. Listen to me...just donβt. Do not convince yourself you will consume lots of carrot juice (none to date). Do not fall victim to the sexy new carrot variety (pink!) advertised in the catalogs. Your friends and family love carrots but they only want so many. You are reliably good at growing carrots, no need to overcompensate. No matter how overcome with the joy you feel while planting in May, calm down and think about what this will look like in August.
Love,
Me
