i dont have many fun facts to share today (as you can probably tell...) which just means im working too much. i havent learned anything new this week and I'm usually really motivated and excited to learn new things. :/ i guess the one thing I've been researching that pertains to my life right now is how to exercise effectively. (pictured: me after today's workout) Through my personal experiements and research, it looks like strength training is the best thing for you. Along with sprints, so hiit. Cut the long-distance runs. Cut the 1 hour stationary steady bike. Sprints get your body going for a couple of seconds then you allow it come back down. So the stress isn’t so high. It’s high for about a minute then you’re able to cool off and let your body know you’re okay. The more stress = higher adrenaline = more fat storage. Lifting is good because building muscles helps with insulin sensitivity. It’s also good for when you’re older - the #1 most common way to go is through a fatal fall. If you have muscles, you dramatically cut the risk in half. If you’re lifting and eating the right amounts of amino acids + building blocks (MEAT!) you’ll be golden! Lifting is also good because on your bulk days, you can treat it as a hiit day. On leg days, my heart rate peaks over 179 sometimes! when it does this, I usually give my heart time to come back down and chilllllllll, but there's no point in pairing heaving days with cardio. It's too much stress on the body. Well, too much stress on my body since I'm technically still sick. i have been all about the fasted chronic cardio basically for my entire life but as i'm working on healing my auto immune diseases, I've realized that I gain weight when I do steady cardio. It’s strange but I learned through some extensive research and talking with my doctor that chronic cardio causes fat storage. Wtffffff. I’ve also been fasting A LOT and I guess you can overdo it! Who knew XD Trying out three meals a day for the first time in.....a lot of years. I can't remember the last time I ate three meals a day. Let's see if it helps! I’ve also been working out in a fasted state, which I thought was really good for insulin sensitivity, but if you do chronic cardio on an empty stomach, your body is literally eating itself and storing fat in ways your body can’t use it because it thinks you’re in a famine state. Sometimes I feel energized enough to take on a workout fasted. Other times I def need something beforehand. I guess long story short, listen to your body. Which SUCKS because I know I want to know exactly what to do and how to do it. JUST TELL ME! Nope, you gotta pay attention to your own body and go from there. Lots of experiments. Lots of uncomfortable experiences. Lot's of body image issues (guilty)
