

One of the most important things we can do for ourselves, not just at the beginning of the year but really anytime, is set goals for ourselves. It’s important to do this because without a destination, we will likely feel lost in life. Setting goals gives us something we can reach for and work towards and when we attain or accomplish our goals, we create positive emotions and overall feelings of contentment and satisfaction with ourselves. Now you may be asking yourself… How do I set a goal? It’s easy, take out a piece of paper and a pen, write down some things you want, and tape it next to your bed so you can look at it everyday before you go to bed and first thing in the morning when you wake up. Your goals should be believable, but a little out of your reach (what you believe is difficult to attain). They should also be measurable. It helps to have a mixture of little goals that will help you get to your bigger goals.
