Lowry has always been a member of this team since I've started following the team. When my mom passed away, my dad went into a deep depression. He wouldn't eat. He wouldn't go out of the house. Back then, I wasn't following the NBA much, but my dad used to watch the Raptors games, every one of them, while my mom had been battling cancer for over a year. Lowry was in his first moments with the Raptors when my mom got her diagnostic, and he quickly became her favorite player. So, I decided to bring him to a Raptors game to get him out of the house. Trust me, he couldn't care less while sitting at the game. But he did get out of the house, so that was a small win. On my end, I became a Raptors fan. Since my mom was a fan of Lowry, I started to enjoy seeing his fat ass win games for our Raptors. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the Scotiabank Arena. That was in 2014. I'm attending every season opener, at least 2-3 games during the year, and one or two games during the playoffs. I LOVE my Raptors, and Kyle Lowry was the heart and soul of this team. Sometimes, sports help you go through tough stuff...and for me, I think it has helped me through my grieving. It may sound silly, but seeing Lowry leave the Raptors is a sad moment for me as it reminds me of my mom cheering for him and everything that came afterward. This wasn't a "let's travel to the other side of Earth" Tuesday travel, but I wanted to share a little more about me today. I hope you won't mind.
