Today is Saint Dunstan's feast day, let's celebrate! Dunstan is one of several patron saints of locksmiths. He has a fascinating biography. An interesting side note, if you've ever heard about the lucky horseshoe hanging over a doorway, he started that fad over 1000 years ago. The devil and horseshoe storys are folkloric and funny. One story relates how Dunstan nailed a horseshoe to the Devil's foot when he was asked to re-shoe the Devil's cloven hoof. This caused the Devil great pain, and Dunstan only agreed to remove the shoe and release the Devil after he promised never to enter a place where a horseshoe is over the door. Many claim this as the origin of the lucky horseshoe. Believe me, when I say me and this guy have had quite a few heated conversations over the years since I converted to the Church in 2009 St. Dunstan has an awesome story. I recommend googling him and reading some of the biographies and stories written about him. He's an interesting character for sure. I know many of you don't recognize saints or even religion, thats cool. Dunstan was a real person in history that accomplished a lot. He inspired many folk stories too. Man, myth and legend. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunstan
