Best practice is to go long and slowwwwwww. In areas were there is extra tightness or tension, take a moment to pause and hold. Allow gravity to do the work and sink in to the arch of the foam roller. I promise, with pain comes progress, use your breath as a tool and breath. So many benefits from foam rolling.
